You are an at-risk individual if you:
  • are a Hepatitis B or C carrier
  • consume alcohol excessively
  • have a family history of liver cancer
  • have fatty liver
  • use anabolic steroids for prolonged periods
  • are exposed to chemicals and toxins: Aflatoxin, Arsenic, Vinyl chloride, hydrocarbons, solvents, nitrites
  • have genetic disorders that cause damage to the liver
For Hepatitis B or C carriers, or those with liver cirrhosis of any cause, the risk of getting liver cancer is about 50–100 times greater than one without these risk factors.

Dr Lee Ser Yee is an established liver surgeon with clinical interest in minimally invasive and image-guided liver surgery, and has over a decade of specialised expertise treating liver cancer.

Dr Lee was a founding member of the Department of Hepatopancreatobiliary & Transplant Surgery at Singapore General Hospital, and serves as a transplant surgeon on the Mount Elizabeth Liver Transplant Team.

Passionate about elevating the standard of care in liver treatment and surgery, Dr Lee takes time off his private practice to speak at international conferences and chair discussions in his field of expertise. He has also conducted many advanced surgical courses and lectures. A recipient of several service awards, Dr Lee is committed to providing compassionate and effective care to his patients.
